Strawberry season is upon us which means we can add this amazing fruit to smoothies, desserts and salads. Some days I prefer a smoothie bowl to a smoothie. Smoothie bowls are thick and creamy and I definitely feel like I’ve had a meal, it’s enough to keep me going through the morning. Bonus – they’re so refreshing. You can add whichever toppings your heart desires to customise to your tastes and it is made in 5 minutes.

Not only are strawberries juicy and summery, they’re nutrient-rich and packed with antioxidants (like vitamin C). Strawberries offer a wide range of health benefits including boosting immunity, lowering inflammation and increasing your fibre intake. 1 handful of strawberries, washed and stemmed
¼ pineapple chopped
1 banana, peeled
1 cup plain yoghurt

Topping ingredients

Strawberries, chopped
Seeds to sprinkle (we used sesame and linseed)
Coconut flakes


For a sustainable serving bowl, hollow out the pineapple. You can freeze the remaining pineapple for making more smoothie bowls later

Place strawberries, pineapple and banana in a blender and whizz until smooth

Pour into pineapple bowl and top with your choice of toppings
