Aussie Beauty - The Best Of Down Under

Not long ago natural and organic beauty products used to be very hard to find and when you could find them they were darn expensive. With consumers paying more attention to what they are putting onto their skin that has changed and now there is a natural alternative to every single beauty product on the market and a lot of them are at a bargain price.

Beauty | The perfect foundation + everything for your base.

The one beauty question I am asked most across our social channels is “what foundation do you use?” After trying many brands I have finally found what I deem to be the perfect foundations. They both feel beautiful and light on my skin but provide full coverage! Monday to Friday I am generally sans make up, since having photo rejuvenation (for uneven skin tone) I feel a lot more confident out in public without make up on and will stick to serums and sunscreen.

Skin Confidence

Lets talk about skin! Our skin is our largest organ and is composed of 2 main layers – the epidermis (outer) and dermis (inner). It prevents germs from entering the body and damaging our internal organs and plays a role in maintaining the immune system. It manufactures Vitamin D, can show early warning signs of disease, removes toxins and waste from the body plus a whole list of other amazing things. So while our skin can do a lot for us we also need to give it a bit of love. Not just sometimes, everyday.

Another beauty essentials post for May to show you some of the brands that I am loving at the moment. Most of these are products I have been using for a long time and are staples in my household. Black Chicken Remedies

Five weeks ago on Instagram I posted about a natural deodorant I was trailing from a brand called Black Chicken.  A brand by Chey Birch that was dreamt up in 1989 in Bondi, Australia.  Chey's main concern and reason for creating these beautiful products is that we apply so many products containing damaging chemicals and synthetic fragrances to our skin.  She wanted to find a way to reduce the chances of developing chronic health conditions, to assist the body in a natural way and harness the therapeutic power of natural oils to enhance wellbeing, physically and spiritually.  Something Libby and I are very passionate about, so naturally Black Chicken was a brand I wanted to know a bit more about.

What we put on our skin is just as important as the food we eat

You would have heard that eating foods that are covered in chemicals are harmful to your health, but many people aren't aware that alot of what we put on our skin is absorbed into our blood stream.  While there are some chemicals that are too large to enter our blood stream some are small enough to penetrate through the skin, examples of these are nicotene and birth control patches. It takes 26 seconds for chemicals to enter our blood stream from products we are placing on our skin.

One Day Juice Fast

A one day juice fast gives our digestive system a break and an opportunity for the organs that are responsible for ongoing detoxification (liver, kidneys, skin, and lungs) to do a little extra health-promoting work, such as healing itself.  We wash our hair, cleanse our face and moisturize to look good on the outside so remember that our bodies need a little TLC on the inside as well.  Western diets consists of mainly processed, overcooked, fatty, sugary food and if you are eating that day after day it puts a lot of strain on your body.  Not to mention environment toxins such as car fumes, harsh house hold cleaning chemicals and air pollutants.  Over time these toxins can build up in your body and wreak havoc on your system.
