Creamy Avocado Pudding

Flesh of 3 avocados

5 tablespoons maple syrup

4 tablespoons cacao or cocoa powder


  1. Add all the ingredients into a food processor and blend until well combined.
  2. Serve pudding into 4 bowls and sprinkle with your choice of toppings.
  3. Pudding can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.

With Avocado season just around the corner, I thought I would share my favourite way to enjoy this versatile fruit, in a dessert. This fruit is usually enjoyed alongside eggs or in savoury meals but it tastes even better when made into a sweet meal. Subbing avocado into desserts packs in extra health benefits and gives it a creamy texture. Avocados are high in good quality fat, fibre, they contain over 20 vitamins and minerals and have more potassium than bananas.

Chocolate avocado pudding is a healthy, creamy, decadent dessert made with avocados, maple syrup and raw cacao powder. This recipe took me 3 minutes to make and uses only 3 ingredients. I topped mine with blueberries, pomegranate, coconut chips and pistachio nuts. Other toppings that can be used include fresh fruit, coconut cream, cinnamon, cacao nibs and nuts and seeds. This recipe can be eaten as a dessert, snack or even at breakfast time when spread on some seeded bread with banana.
